A note from the poet
The storyline behind my poems comes from the experience I am encountering as a refugee. The journey from my country of origin right up to the present state of my life in Greece has never been a bed of roses for me, as life for the migrants is a tough one. But as a warrior, I choose to fight on despite the deplorable conditions experienced here. I believe and hope someday the world will not only be a better place for me, but to all those who stretch out their hands for help. And their voices will be heard by those who valorise Humanity. Some day hope this write up of mine will give hope to the hopeless and courage to those who feel life is turning their backs on them. I pray that I be part of those who will speak life into Humanity once more.

Agony of a Voyager
Abew Lovett Ngwese

When desperation strikes, hope gets triggered.

And every dream looks to beauty for accomplishment.
But in it lies the agony of a voyager.
High ambition is the only voice that whispers in his ears.
But behind it lies the untold truth of reality.
Because in it lies the agony of a voyager.
Rocky is the path which leads to that bright light.
But questions of who will make it till the end are the order of the day?
A walk where hope almost vanishes like a smoke.
But faith is the only thing that keeps him going.
That is the agony of a voyager.
A smile on a sad face tells the journey upon arrival.
But there still comes a raging storm ahead.

Abwe Lovett Ngwese was born in Bangem, the South West Region of Cameroon. He is 31 years old, and holds a Bachelor Degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Dschang. He lost his father due to the ongoing political crisis in his country, which also led Abwe flee from his country. He went through the lands of Iran and Turkey, and finally to Greece, where he was granted political asylum. He is a lover of the arts, and a composer of songs.
