Break Everything
Morning-meadow Jones

‘Don’t touch anything,
don’t break anything,
sit quietly,’ they said.

I’m here to say different:
I’m telling you to
break everything, kid.

Break into laughter.
Break out in song.
Break new records.
Break up old wrong.
Break with tradition.
Break the code.
Break a trail.
Break the mould.
Break onto the scene,
Break camp, break ranks.
Break a leg, kid.
Break the bank.
Break bread, break free.
Break every yoke.
Bust a move.
Go for broke.

Break the silence.

Break it down.
Break through.
Break out, break loose.
Break away, break into.

Days break, and
waves break,
and fevers break too.

Don’t sit quietly, kid!

It’s a piñata.

Your life
is meant
to be touched and broken.

So break it,
break it,
break it wide open.
