London
Luis Elvira-Sierra

Where does everybody
wipe their tears off their face?

It might be in London

Where does everybody
dream a life
full of sins and regrets?

It might be in London

Where does everybody
come to feel alone?

It might be London

as London is a Dragon
made of glass

a machine
which relishes
the taste of our flesh
in the evenings

when we are in front of tv
or spreading the butter on the toast
or under
or over
somebody else’s body
learning how to dance
this choreography
created long before
we were born

and then
and just then

London sings its song
every morning

to make us smile

to let us forget
we are under threat
of living inside the belly
of a whale
