Memory Evaluation
Maryna Krazhova

We can discuss the Romans and the Celts
And can recall at least a few Greek Gods.
We memorize the dates of policies
And nicknames of the sport and the pop stars,

We congregate the chiefs like special others
And grade the names according to time-framing.

Are you aware that you had four great-grandmothers?

Evaluate your memory and name them.

Maryna Krazhova is a Belarusian-born author from Boston, U.S. The majority of her poetry and short stories are written in her native language. As an AmeriCorps member, she serves refugees and immigrants at Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition and is interested in diversity, cultural issues, and the rights of ethnic minorities.
