Don’t Give Me Half-Measures of Anything
Yessica Klein

not the hormonal rollercoaster high type of
                love –
                           translated to our different languages
mine a developing one, always Romantic –
yours traditional
             if not conservative & colonial
e.g.
apaixonar-se – to be in a state of passion
you call it being in love –
but where I’m from, we don’t invite love to these
                         things –
in fact, I don’t recall ever inviting love to anything
that little bitch – but it’s too late to argue
the linguistic roots
                           of our
                                        indifferences
